The Air-Conditioning Recharge Service consists of evacuating the system using state-of-the art, EPA approved machines to capture the freon for disposal or reuse (if not contaminated).

The system is then recharged to full capacity along with compressor oil and a fluorescent dye which is used to help locate the leak in the system. In some cases, the leak is not quickly detected and it is necessary to allow the system to operate under normal conditions for a few days to a few weeks.

This synthetic refrigerant was developed to be an environmentally friendly replacement for R134a. The Global Warming Potential (GWP) of R1234yf has a rating of less than 1. By comparison, R134a refrigerant has a GWP of 1430.

Diagnosis of the R1234yf air-conditioning system is basically the same as with R134a but requires a specialized recovery machine and other equipment to handle R1234yf, which is mildly flammable. Our ASE certified technicians are prepared to diagnose and repair your air conditioning systems, whether R134a or R1234yf. Call us today or make an appointment.

Even though the winter months on the Gulf Coast are relatively mild, there are days you do need your heater to work and to work well. On one of those cold days, if you find that your heater is blowing cold or not at all, it is time to have your heating and cooling system checked.
